Co-Founder / Chartered Accountant

Vanessa co-founded Dova Group with one clear mission - to give clients confidence, clarity, and control over their finances. As Senior Partner, she blends technical excellence with practical, easy to understand advice that helps businesses move forward with certainty.

With over 15 years of experience spanning audit, financial reporting, and commercial finance, Vanessa brings both big picture strategy and a keen eye for detail. She trained and qualified with KPMG, leading audits across diverse sectors, before stepping into senior finance roles at FTSE 250 companies. This mix of practice and industry expertise means she understands challenges from every angle making her a powerful partner for growth.

Today, Vanessa specialises in financial strategy, forecasting, and data-driven decision making, helping executive teams unlock value, navigate complexity, and seize opportunities. Whether it’s delivering board level reporting or guiding major transactions, she provides the clarity leaders need to make confident, well informed decisions.

A First-Class graduate in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds and a proud member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Vanessa is recognised not just for her analytical sharpness, but also for her supportive approach. Clients value her as a trusted adviser who makes the complex simple and financial decisions less daunting. Vanessa holds Dova Group’s Practising Certificate and is a key force behind its reputation for trusted, high quality advice.
 

Outside of Dova Group, Vanessa assesses professional accountancy exams and trains future Chartered Accountants, sharing her insight and experience with the next generation.

Dorothy Ashietey, ACCA

Co-Founder / Chartered Accountant

Dorothy is a dedicated ACCA trained professional with an MBA in Finance and a strong background in financial reporting, contract management, and business support within both the public and private sectors. She brings a well-rounded perspective to financial management, informed by both academic and practical experience. Dorothy is known for her personable style and commitment to delivering clear, practical advice that helps clients feel supported.

Dorothy has also worked with an accounting firm, where she gained hands-on experience in preparing VAT returns, self-assessments, auditing, management accounts, business plans, and providing advisory services to clients across a range of industries.

At Dova Group, she plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and performance control. She specialises in reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and preparing data for external financial statements in line with IFRS and UK GAAP standards.

Known for her calm leadership and commitment to continuous improvement, Dorothy also supports clients with financial planning insights that help drive confident decision making. Outside of work, she’s an avid reader of the Financial Times and keeps a close eye on global financial developments.
